Welcome to Greenhill Gymnastics Club

Our History

The Club was formed in 1983 by the current Principal Head Coach Jean Willis.

Within a short time the popularity of the club had started to exceed its limited original premises, and while the membership numbers increased rapidly it was relocated to its current venue a the Herne Bay High School Sports College, with the view to continuing it's strong partnership links with the school as well as allowing the club to expand it's membership and develop a 'Hub Club', promoting links between the recreational clubs of Herne Bay, Faversham and the surrounding areas.

By this stage the club became well established within South East women's artistic gymnastics. Notably, the Greenhill gymnasts gained sporting prowess at County, Regional and National levels. Numerous accolades bestow its past and present members and they move forever onwards and upwards with marked success.

The club was recognised as one of the first in the UK to gain the much acclaimed Gym Mark accreditation, providing its members who come from all over the Kent Area with an acknowledged safe and child friendly environment in which to train.

With the focus on the all round apparatus artistic genre and in parallel the general gymnastic floor and vault programmes. Anyone who has seen the Greenhill gymnasts perform or compete will be aware of their outstanding skill, individuality and resulting high standards of quality.

These high standards are gained through the accumulated expertise of some of the highest qualified and distinguished coaching and judging staff in the area and along with their dedicated and loyal club volunteers believe in the physical and mental development of all its members.
